SINGAPORE ― Disney+ announced a list of upcoming Korean original series, from the sequels of its hit series to documentaries of K-pop stars BTS and Super Junior, during Disney Content Showcase APAC 2022 held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Wednesday.
The second season of three originals ― the romantic series "Soundtrack #2," the thriller suspense series "Shadow detective 2," and the reality show "The Zone 2" ― are set to hit the platform in the coming months.
A string of new original series, starring star-studded cast members, are also slated for next year.
The romance series, "Call It Love," led by the web series "No, Thank You" director Lee Kwang-young, will have actors Kim Young-kwang and Lee Sung-kyoung as the leads. It will revolve around a woman who faces a whirlwind of crises after finding out about her father's affair.
"The series will tell a realistic love story. The subtle, ordinary tale will resonate with viewers by appealing to their deep emotions," the director said.
Led by Park In-je, the director of Netflix's zombie series "Kingdom 2," the action series "Moving," about children with superpowers and their parents fighting against villains, stars Zo In-sung, Ryu Seung-ryong and Han Hyo-joo. It is based on the popular webcomic of the same name.

The crime, action series, "Worst of Evil," starring Ji Chang-wook and Wi Ha-joon, will follow an undercover officer who infiltrates a new criminal organization that fuels the rise of an international drug ring. This will be a series debut for filmmaker Han Dong-wook, whose previous work includes the romance film, "Man in Love."
"Race," about PR officers at a private firm who struggle through social prejudice and combat injustice, will star actors Lee Yeon-hee, Hong Jong-hyun and Jung Yun-ho, who is also known as K-pop group TVXQ! Member Yuno. It is led by Lee Dong-yoon, whose previous work is the romance series, "She Would Never Know."
Disney+ will also present a series of music docu-series next year, will take viewers behind the scenes into the lives of K-pop stars, including BTS, Super Junior, J-Hope, and NCT 127.
"BTS MONUMENTS: BEYOND THE STAR," the group's second docu-series on the platform since "BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage ― LA," will offer a glimpse of its members' real lives as well as their candid thoughts on their future as musicians.
"We invite you to the time of BTS' blood, sweat and tears," the group's leader RM said in a video message.
The group's member J-Hope is also getting a solo docu-series, sharing the artist's journey of his recent solo release. It will include behind-the-scenes looks at his performance at the 2022 Lollapalooza as well as an exclusive interview.
"Super Junior: The Last Man Standing" will follow the seasoned K-pop male group's career, exploring their act and offering fresh insight to the industry.
"NCT127 Lost Boys" (working title) will spotlight the group's world tour held throughout 2022-2023.
