Actors Kim Min-gyu and Go Bo-gyeol, who led tvN's recent series, "The Heavenly Idol," thanked the fans as they bid farewell to the series.

The comedy fantasy series, based on the web novel of the same name, follows a priest named Lembrary (Kim) from a fictional world, waking up in the modern world as a failed K-pop singer Woo Yeon-woo.

As a member of a struggling, not-so-popular boy group, Lembrary is forced to navigate the cutthroat world of K-pop with the help of the group's manager, Kim Dal (Go), while also trying to find a way back to his original world.

The 12-part series wrapped Thursday with a happy ending, where Lembrary came back to the modern world to be with Kim Dal, hinting the further romance between the two.

Kim shared photos from the episodes as well as from his time on the set with fellow actors, saying "thank you," and "great job," following the series' last episode.

Go expressed this series has been a challenge for her.

"It's been a while since I've appeared in media. So I was more nervous when it aired than when I filmed it. Especially, my character was different than what I've played in my previous work, 'Hi Bye, Mama!' so I was curious how the viewers will see her," she said through her agency, HighZium Studio, Friday.

"'The Heavenly Idol' and Kim Dal were a new challenge for me. Thanks to all the good people I've met and with their help, I was able to wrap the series on a good note. Kim Dal has taught me the strength that I can use in further journeys and challenges in the future."

The actress shared that she even gained weight to create a lovely character.

"At the first meeting, the director suggested I gain weight in order to create Kim Dal's character. And thanks to that, I could create a cute character as Kim Dal," she said. "Kim Dal is a manager who truly cares about her artist. So I tried to focus on how she's a true fan of Woo, who saved her life. That's the base for all of Kim Dal's story."

She said that she had such great teamwork with her co-stars, sharing they freely exchanged ideas to create the scenes.

"Not just Kim Min-gyu who played the Lembrary, but also all the actors who played the members of Wild Animal were very much like their own characters, so we had such a comfortable work environment," she said. "So in that sense, we helped each other out when we were in scenes together and exchanged ideas."

The 12-part series is led by Park So-yeon, who previously directed the 2020 drama series, "Graceful Friends," and is scripted by newcomer Lee Chun-guem.
