Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group plans to showcase its "ocean transformation" strategies aimed for fundamental changes to the use of the ocean during its second participation in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the company said Friday.
The group said its 595-square-meter exhibition booth for the CES 2023 between Jan. 5 and 8 will feature four themes: ocean mobility, ocean wise, ocean life and ocean energy.
For ocean mobility, the shipbuilding group will show a safer and more economical ship, based on its technologies for unmanned ships and remote operations.
"Using large replicas that model future ships, energy-saving technologies and eco-friendly low-carbon fuel propelling technologies will be displayed," HHI Group said in a press release.
Regarding the theme of ocean wise, the conglomerate will unveil a marine data platform that can optimize global maritime transport networks, such as a smart ship system that provides optimal routes by collecting marine data from ships, shipping companies and ports.
The theme of ocean life will focus on systems that can expand living space in the sea through technologies that enhance safety and convenience.
In addition, HHI Group will talk about the vision of a sustainable energy ecosystem, regarding the theme of ocean energy. According to the group, the ecosystem will range from marine energy production, transportation and utilization based on technologies for marine flotation and next-generation energy propulsion.
"For sustainable future growth, it is necessary to realize the infinite potential of the ocean, a valuable resource to mankind," a HHI Group official said. "By participating in CES 2023, we will open a new era, based on our company's 50 years of expertise and innovative technologies."
